What is a honed tube?
A honed tube is a steel tube whose inner bore has been honed, an abrasive finishing process that makes the bore size accurate and the inner surface very smooth. Honed tubes are used as the barrel of hydraulic and pneumatic cylinders, where the piston seals run against the inner surface.
What bore tolerance and surface finish do your honed tubes have?
Kamal Hydrotech honed tubes are made to H8 bore tolerance with an inner surface finish of Ra 0.2-0.4 micron, which gives the piston seals a smooth, leak-free surface to run on.
