A hard chrome plated rod is a precision steel bar electroplated with hard chromium (15–25 microns), providing hardness of 58–65 HRC, corrosion resistance, and surface finish Ra 0.2–0.4μm. It is used in hydraulic cylinder pistons, linear motion guide shafts, tie rods, and machine tool applications.
A honed tube is the inner barrel of hydraulic and pneumatic cylinders. Its precision-honed bore (Ra 0.2–0.4μm) ensures a leak-free piston seal, minimises friction, and extends cylinder life. Honed tubes are used in construction equipment, injection moulding machines, industrial presses, and agricultural machinery.

Kamal Hydrotech manufactures hydraulic piston rods from EN8, EN31, C45, and 42CrMo4 (EN19) steel. For corrosive environments, SS304 and SS316 stainless steel are available. All rods are precision-ground before hard chrome plating, achieving dimensional accuracy within ±0.005mm and surface finish Ra 0.2–0.4μm.
